Every parent has that moment of pride, mixed with a tinge of sadness when their seven or eight year old comes to them with a loose tooth. They are proud of the fact they are growing up, and are quite excited for what the tooth fairy may bring them as a reward. As a parent you have one of those moments where you scream, “Oh My God!” but only inside your head, because you know your child is growing up very quickly right in front of your eyes.
My wife had a different ‘oh my god,’ moment when this happened. It was that she had forgotten her and the kids were supposed to head into see Lubbock John S. Johnson Dentist for the kid’s annual checkup. She decided with a loose tooth so evidently in front of her, this was not an appointment she should skip. Normally if it were anything else, and we forget we will usually call and reschedule, but this was clearly different.
In Lubbock, Child Dentistry is in rather high demand and appointments are often difficult to come upon. Dr. Johnson is one of the best in the business, not just in Lubbock but anywhere. During their checkup and appointment he checked over my eight-year-old’s teeth, and imparted the virtues of remembering to brush your teeth well, on the children. His staff also made sure to practice flossing with and my older and younger child, advise my wife on dental care for a child who is in the process of loosing a tooth. Needless to say after all these years my children are all still cavity free, and it is in part to our Lubbock Pediatric Dentist Dr. Johnson.
The thing every parent needs to keep in mind, no matter how nostalgic you get, your child only gets two sets of teeth. So make sure they take care of them by visiting their pediatric dentist. As for the eight-year-old, well he has two more loose teeth, which he will likely loose in the next few weeks. All I can say is it’s too bad it isn’t Christmas, then we’d know what he would be asking Santa for.
